Rooted in 1966, the Maricopa County Medical Society (MCMS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on improving healthcare in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Our priorities are to:
1) Provide outreach to underprivileged students about careers in healthcare.
2) Leverage the medical community to educate physicians about community partners that can help with social determinants of health.
3) Provide scholarships to medical students coming from underprivileged backgrounds.
The Foundation recently adopted Beanie for Babies as one of its programs.
Beanies for Babies
A passion project of Arizona medical students, Beanies for Babies was born from a desire to bring about changes to their local healthcare system as well as support wellness in the lives of their peers. Medical school is a notoriously difficult time, with many losing sleep and hobbies to the high demands of the curriculum. By providing an easy introduction for our peers to discover a new creative outlet, we created a platform to help consolidate students' energy, efforts, and kindness to create a lasting impact in our community. Sponsor a beanie today for $10. Funds raised warm the hearts of women and families in the Phoenix valley by supporting the access and equity of healthcare.
